@Partha  DLM from the DSLAM is active. Reason is the old modem chipset from the 7412. if you want a stable and full 100 Mbit sync try to get a Fritzbox 7530 or 7590. Full support from o2 and English system since Firmware 7.20.

Yep i wanna buy this for a couple of week :) Thank you for help.

Actually i print a return o2 Box (i don't understand why they giving so slow device for which one you must pay extra money.

@Joe Doe  Thanks for the information.

@Lars I have 50 Mbps plan. Can I get my existing modem replaced with Fritzbox 7530 or 7590 as Joe Doe suggests? If so, what is the process?

Thanks,
Partha

Hello @Partha,

well, you could rent a Fritzbox from us via our customer service but this would come with an activation fee of 70 Euros. Since it is a 50MBit/s contract it will probably be an Fritzbox 7490 which will cost EUR 4,99 per monath.

It may be cheaper to have a look at some WiFi repeater that may boost the signal strength for a lower price.

Lars

Hello @o2_Lars ,

The wifi router Homebox is only 20 feet away from my laptop. Do I really need a router? Will it solve the problem if the router itself is the bottleneck?

Thanks,
Partha

@Partha Try to give 2,4 / 5 GHz Wifi different names and play with channels. I personally don’t like the Homebox because of the Wifi in some conditions. If you need stable WiFi for home office look a Fritzbox 7530 or 7590.

Hello @Joe Doe,

Thank you for your suggestion. I will try Fritzbox.

Hello @Partha,

depending on the circumstances a new router might help with wifi issues. A Fritzbox of the 7530/7590 series indeed offers an impvoment in wifi technology used in the Homebox but of course there may still be things in the vicinity of the router itself that influence the wifi signaling. Storing the router behind a metal door vastly reduces the wifi signal, having one or more walls between the router and the device you plan to use wifi on can have an influece and so on.

But all in all a Fritzbox is a good choice since they also allow more detailed settings and functions.

Lars

Hello @o2_Lars ,

Thank you for your suggestion.

Kind regards,
Partha

@o2_Lars yes Jaa bitte please look into it!!

I cannot take it anymore. I cannot work from home properly, I cannot listen to online radio, I keep on using my LTE with 4GB o2 Prepaid included so I can function, but I end up paying 14,99 to charge it every week. It is a vicious circle in my detriment.

Hello @adilette,

as far as I understand you have questions regarding a mobile connection? I recommend to open an new thread with this issue since this thread is about a fixed line DSL connection :-)

Regards,

Lars

Hello @o2_Lars thanks for your answer but I was saying “I keep on using my o2 LTE..” because the o2 DSL is so slow, or a lot slower than the LTE.

Hello @adilette,

as you are not logged in with your “Mein o2” account we don’t see your data. Please let us have a few more infomation: what tarif do you have? What kind of router do you use? Have you measured via WiFi? Are there other devices/programmes running during the speed test?

Kind regards,

Giulia
