Dear Sir / Madam,

I started my O2 100Mbit/s DSL & Festnetz contract 3 months ago and I originally received an internet download speed of 90 - 95 Mbit/s. A month later the download speed was down to about 80 - 90 Mbit/s and then the following month it was 80 - 85 Mbit/s. Now it is down to 70 - 75 Mibt/s. What is the reason for my speed rate slowing down? I see the same pattern with my upload speeds.

Regards,

syncedup

Dear @syncedup ,

first of all, welcome to our forum. Nice that you have found your way to us. :-)

This looks like DLM for me, that is in short words a speedreduction because of some line instabilities (maybe not you, bot other user in the same wiring harness). This reduction is done by the lineprovider (i.E. Telekom), to get a better performance (less break-offs and new starts). Please don’t disconnect the router for raising the up- and downloadrate again. This can take several days to a month until the speed grows again.

Maybe @Joe Doe can take a look, too when you post a screenshot of your routerdata.

Do you have any questions about using our community? Then take a look at Neu in der o2 Community? Die wichtigsten Funktionen und Hinweise auf einen Blick. There you will find all the information you need to use!

Kind regards,

Andrea

@o2_Andrea @syncedup If it is a Fritz box, I could say something.

@o2_Andrea and @Joe Doe Thank you for your replies and help. I do have a Fritz Box, what data can I send you?

Dear @syncedup ,

we need the Informations under “DSL-Informationen”:

Kind regards,

Andrea

Dear @o2_Andrea and @Joe Doe:

@syncedup this picture is important. Show the line quality. Please post from you.

@Joe Doe, here is the data:

@syncedup you have technical problems and you get a lower profil from the DLM. Did you have Powerline Adapter at your home? Did your Power Adapter from the Fritzbox is alone in the socket.

@Joe Doe, I am not using a Powerline Adapter, is there another reason for the issue? Is it definitely an internal (in my house) issue? How often would the DLM check for technical problems?

@syncedup  I prefer this way

-Check Fritzbox under system/Ereignisse and use Filter Internetverbindung→ how many times you have „DSL Synchronisation beginnt“ only one time after power up the Fritzbox 4 days ago or you have dsl sync lost problems

-Power off Fritzbox for 15 Minutes and disconnecting dsl cable to TAE box at this time too. (At TAE box)

-connect DSL cable again and Power on. Is now Leistungskapazität better after DSL sync?

-hope you run the Fritzbox with Fritzbox in full Performance mode? Internet/Dsl Informationen/Störsicherheit (Ansicht erweitert must turn on. left down you see the entry for this)

The DLM (digital line management) power up your profile within 14 days if you have no dsl sync lost.. Don’t power off at this time the Fritzbox. The DLM let you longer at the low profile. If you not getting a better profile make a technical ticket. Use the o2 dsl help app for this. It have an english interface.

@Joe Doe, thanks for your message. I looked into this today and my current data is:

Ereignisse:

05.03.20 04:04:27 DSL-Synchronisierung beginnt (Training)
04.03.20 04:44:30 DSL-Synchronisierung beginnt (Training)
03.03.20 18:45:21 DSL-Synchronisierung beginnt (Training)
03.03.20 03:20:07 DSL-Synchronisierung beginnt (Training)
02.03.20 20:16:23 DSL-Synchronisierung beginnt (Training)
01.03.20 03:11:40 DSL-Synchronisierung beginnt (Training)

Does this show that I have "sync lost" problems?

Performance mode:

It seems like it is already set to max.

I have turned of my Fritzbox and then disconnected from the TAE box for 15 minutes. After turning it back on the result of the “Leistungskapazität” is the same. The “Leistungskapazität” actually seems good but my “DSLAM-Datenrate Max” rate seems to be the limiting factor.

Now I will wait 14 days to see if there is an improvement.

@syncedup Yes. 02.03.20 20:16:23 DSL-Synchronisierung beginnt (Training) mean than you loose the (V)DSL sync. So long the technical problems are on the dsl line (Little percent chance that your Fritzbox have technical problems) and the Sync lost problem exists, the DLM from the DSLM will never give you a higher profile. I strongly recommend to make now a technical ticket. See my link above.

Did you have a German speaken friend, who can assist you at home, than you make the ticket? I strongly recommend the o2 dsl help app, because you get a pre ticket number. But you must call after this.
Please tell the hotline what you make all the normal steps and you loose daily one or two times the dsl sync.

@Joe Doe, thank you for your help. I now know my problem is my internal DSL wiring and how I can test an improvement.
