Hi,

My current DSL contract is O 2 DSL Classic S Flex. I was checking if there were any better contracts available for my residence and I saw that, for DSL, O 2 my Home M is available which would be twice the speed.

I just can’t find any place in my user area where I can trigger the change in the contract. Could you support this ?

If I trigger this change, would there be any break in the connection or would it be a transparent upgrade ? (very important as I work from home these days)

Thank you for the support!

@LoneWolfPT You don’t need an upgrade, because in the o2 DSL Classic S Flex you have already a speed from 50/10 Mbit like the my home M.

What router you have? I am interested in your line quality parameters. In a Fritzbox you find good informations.

edited: Because you have an old tariff. Did your dsl username end with s92.bbi-o2.de (ADSL Port Max 16 Mbit) or s93.bbi-o2.de (VDSL Port up to 100Mbit if technically possible from length of the line)

Hi @Joe Doe ,

My username is s93.bbi-o2.de.

Regarding DLS Classic S, at least when I looked here:

https://www.o2online.de/recht/produktinformationsblatt-archiv/#id-24152

It showed a maximum of 25MBit/s for this product, which is more or less what I see effectively at the moment.

@LoneWolfPT You look wrong, because you have the important word Classic in the tariff name is for collective old tariff names.

(Use google translate)

Now to your problem. Why you want a tariff change? You must have a speed up to 50/10 Mbit. What router you have? Can you post a speedtest   https://www.speedtest.net/de   I and an o2 moderator need this Information to help you to get full speed for free.

And that you you have a flex tariff is a good choice!

@Joe Doe , the speed test gave me 25MBit/s download and 5 MBit/s upload.

My router is a o2 HomeBox 6741

Interesting article.. I guess it should really be 50Mb then by now, since that article is a bit old..

@LoneWolfPT Can you check your adress for maximum speed? https://www.o2online.de/e-shop/internet-festnetz
Please press „i“ bottom after you get the results. You get information about the technology you get the speed (4G, VDSL or cable)

Please don’t post your adress.

Since you have an old tariff and Telekom didn't have vectoring at that time, you only have a speed of 25/5.  If you have checked your address and DSL works now with 50 or 100, an O2 moderator can order a free upgrade to 50/10 for you.

This is what I got:

Detail-Information über die Verfügbarkeit

An der geprüften Adresse sind bis zu 50 MBit/s über HomeSpot 4G, 250 MBit/s über Kabel, 250 MBit/s über DSL möglich.

@LoneWolfPT You can have a free broadband switch to a 50/10 profile made here in the community over an o2 moderator.
Is that enough speed for you?

@Joe Doe , yeah this would be enough for me

Thanks for the guidance :)

Hi, I also have the same contract ( DSL Classic S Flex) with bandwith 25/5. I wonder if I could also get this free upgrade? Thanks!

@siaga Can you check you bandwidth for your adress too please?  And no private adress here please?

Hi, it says:

Hi @LoneWolfPT and @siaga

nice to meet you here again.

Thanks a lot to @Joe Doe for assisting you.

I applied for a change of bandwith within the next weeks. You will get a confirmation letter by email if it works. You don’t have to change any settings in your router you can simply restart it and it goes on faster.

Greetings
