Hello all. I am a new customer with O2 Home XL 600 Cable. My service was activated on August 25, 2026, but since then I have had neither internet nor phone service. Until then, I had a working internet connection through Vodafone DSL. I bought a Fritzbox 6660 and decided to switch to cable service with O2. After the activation date, all my calls to customer service were unsuccessful. I submitted a ticket via the “O2 My Service” app, after which an appointment with a technician was scheduled for September 4. On September 2, the technician’s company canceled the appointment. I tried to reach the hotline and customer service by phone, email, and through the contact form, but I only received an automated response—never a solution to my problem. On September 6, an MSM from O2 informed me that a new technician appointment had been scheduled for September 15. In the meantime, I read that my router’s article number was not compatible with O2, so I purchased a new router—a brand new 6670 with a clean number. I changed the MAC address in the hope of establishing a connection, but nothing happened. Yesterday, September 15, the technician didn’t show up. What should I do now? I’m tired of wasting time and money, and I want a concrete solution from O2. Is canceling or terminating this contract and switching to a DSL 175 plan a possibility?

Where exactly did you change the MAC address?

Hello Bummer,

In the app and then I called the Hotline to confirm the change.

Hello @Roodrigo, would you like to continue in English or in german in your other thread?

Best Regards,

Gerrit

@o2_Gerrit,

Let's continue here, please.

What would be a technical ground that could lead to change the current contract to a DSL one? Of course I would prefer cable for the speed, but right now I am not very happy with the situation and I prefer to see the solution from a pragmatic perspective.

Other question: When can I expect to be notified of the new appointment? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Yes, we can continue via English, @Roodrigo, as you stated in your German language thread.

That is not so good when on the 15th no technician showed up and makes understandable, that you are asking in this thread, whether it is possible to switch from cable to DSL

I could take a look regarding your new 6670 router, on the 12th the MAC address has been changed for your connection.

Technician appointments we cannot make via our community here, you will need to call our hotline for broadband issues via 0800 525 1378.

Best Regards,

Gerrit

I bought the 6670 on Saturday, 12/08, changed the MAC and called to confirm if the new MAC was activated. An agent told me that it was. Channels in the modem show no upload or download activity. Kopfstelle unbekant.

Hello. I called the 0800 on the 15/09 around 17:30 and talked with an agent. He told me a feedback would be given between 24 and 48 hours later. I'm still waiting.

Even without a technician, it's clear that there's a technical issue that's impeding the connection and just to register, I communicated, between the confirmation of the offer and the activation day, that there was an issue, but no technical appointment was made.

I'd like to, respectfully, request for a moderator to show me the course of action I need to take to transform this cable contract into a DSL contract (I know DSL works Daheim), since not even the minimum service - according to the Bundesnetzagentur - is being delivered since the activation day. Thank you.

If you switch to DSL you need to wait 3 weeks to get the line. I would try to get cable working. If your router doesnt show any channel you need a technican. Does TV work?

@dSkill Hello. Even with express activation? Regarding the technician, there was already two appointments: one was cancelled by the contractor itself and the second was a Contractor no show, how can I be sure they will come? O2 doesn't give me any feedback or assurance.

@Roodrigo We've updated your trouble ticket to note that you're still offline and unable to use your connection, and that we still need a technician to come to your location to take a closer look at your connection and check for faults.
Please be patient; scheduling this visit should be handled by the local service provider from whom we've leased the line for you.

Kind regards Matze

Did you check all connections in your flat? Did you use factory reset on your box? “CMTS unknown” isn’t normally a problem as well.

@Roodrigo According to my information, we've now been able to schedule a technician appointment for you for next week. I'm confident that everything will be working properly after that.

Kind regards Matze
