Connection drops to less than 1Mbps

Hi,

this morning the Telekom guy did the connection for my O2 line.

I have a tp-link modem, I did all the setup but, I have a good connection (about 55 Mbps) for about 10 minutes, then the speed drops to 0.1 Mbps and I have to restart it to have again the speed like before and then after about 10 minutes again drops and so on.

Do you know what might be the problem ?

Thanks in advance
Best regards
Mat

Moin Moin,

could you give us model and software version?

I think tp-link is not the best choice...

Before going to sleep I restarted and check, the speed was good, this morning also, but as soon as I connected the computer, it dropped again to 0.1 Mbps and I have to restart !
What is the reason for that ?

Hello @Mat1188,

welcome to our o2 community :relaxed:

These problems can have many different causes. Which TP Link do you use exactly? Have you checked the cables for loose connections? Please remove multiple sockets and extension cables.

In order to check your connection it is best to call our customer support. They also offer service in English.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Best regards

Giulia

Hi all and thanks for the replies,

@schluej, so far tp-link never disappointed me, but I'm reading on line that in Germany all the providers are "forcing" you to take the fritzbox and I don't like that, or at least the one that the previous provider gave me was terrible.

So I took a tp-link, before I had a VR600 and it gave me the problem described in the first post.

Now I have changed it with the AC2800 and everything seems to work perfectly at the moment.

@o2_Giulia , I tried to contact the support, it is my fault that I still don't speak German, but to speak with someone in English you need first to give some information to the automatic voice in German and I don't understand what it is asking.

Anyway, as said, the problem is not happening anymore 🤞 so I can consider that the other tp-link a had some problem.

Thanks

Best regards

Mattia
