Change from DSL to Fiber Optic

Hi Community,

Need help regarding the change of home internet technology. We currently moved into our new flat and requested to have our current DSL connection to be established at our new flat. An appointment is set for this on 14.02.25 so looking forward to it. Now a concern & doubt comes in my mind, I saw a promotion offer for fiber optic which I opted, this will take some time for setup as this is a different technology and it will properly be setup in couple of months as I suppose. Now my question is, Is it a switch to our current DSL contract or a completely new contract ? Because having 2 type of internet connection in a single household does not make sense at all...Please someone from O2 suggest what are my options here ? Thanks alot.

P.S Our current contract is in the name of my Wife.

Best Regards,

Hassan B.

You first have to arrange a move to TKG. The running time remains the same as before if O2 can switch the same connection.
Is there already something available for fiber optic HÜP, Ont, fiber optic box? Has anyone actually been there where the HÜP goes from the owner?  If not, it will take a very long time until fiber optics can be booked or used.

Or is the DSL connection a Flex?

Hi Anfänger !

Not sure about TKG, Can you tell briefly what it is ?

I believe no infrastructure related to Fiber optic is available at the building and probably will be the first tenant to use this technology so I am sure it will take sometime and I can confirm it via looking at the fiber optic connection application status in the O2 portal.

Again not sure which type of DSL connection we have but guessing it to be not flex :)

Hassan B

‘Flex‘ means that you have chosen an o2 Home contract without a minimum contract term. o2 offers all contracts either with a 24-month minimum contract term or without a minimum contract term (’Flex").

Hi blablup !

Thanks for the link ! So I believe we dont have a DSL Flex contract….what does it means to us now ? Does it means we will have 2 connections of different types at same house and have to pay for both ? Is there still time to withdraw from the application for Fiber optic connection as it is still in the early phase ? What options do we have here ?

Hassan B.

If you have concluded 2 separate contracts (apparently also with different contract holders), you must also fulfil these independently of each other.

Hello @HassanB,

welcome to our o2 Community 🙂

I could take a look and see  the DSL contract running for 24 months which moved to your new address last week and fiber contract at your old address, where the colleagues already entered that the client who made the order moved away.

As of now no cancellation policy has been sent to you about that contract but on 29.1. a confirmation with the Auftragsnummer/order number, with which you can revoke via e-mail to our address: widerruf@cc.o2online.de

Best Regards,

Gerrit

Hello @o2_Gerrit,

Thanks alot for your support and reaching out to us. I am bit confused that the connection for the new order for fiber optic was made for the Old address :S anyways I would like to know whether is there any possibility that we can opt for fiber optic over our current DSL connection ? Is there any combo we can make adjusting our current contract by swapping the internet technology ? Please let me know what options do we have ? What can the best be done by you in this matter ?

Thanks alot for your support.

Best Regards,

Hassan & Saskia Bhutto

Hello @HassanB,

I see that the second contract at your old address has been cancelled 🙂

You can check the availability of technologies like fiber or DSL and the speed and monthly fees of the tarriffs available at your current address with our availability check 🙂

Best Regards,

Gerrit
