Hi there,

I planned to cancel my fixed DSL contract (which already passed the first 24 months) in September 2020 and it will end in December 2020, after that I would like book a new DSL contract called “DSL ohne Vertragslaufzeit” with the same speed option as I have right now. I wanted to preserve my number and do not overlap my two contracts, what steps should I take?

Regards,

Kristen

@Kristen Sorry this will not working. o2 only allow following ways:
Flex contract ugrade/downgrade Flex contract  :ballot_box_with_check:

Flex contract to 24 months :ballot_box_with_check:

24 months contract to Flex contract :x:

If you want an o2 flex contract (what I understand to 100%) you must cancel your old contract and after this a new contract. Attention: About 2-3 weeks without DSL in this period.

Hi there, thank you for your answer! What if I start my new contract a little bit earlier so that I could skip the period of no DSL? I know it will cost me more but is it technically possible to do that?

Kristen

@Kristen i think, this will not work for o2, until the old contract have end. In the moment only o2 offers in Germany the monthly DSL contracts. Wait for an o2 moderator. Can be happen they have an idea.

Alright, I will see what they say. Thank you so much for answering!

Hello @Kristen,

welcome to our community!

Unfortunately, switching from a fixed-term contract to a contract with a monthly notice period is not possible. You can of course cancel and order a new contract, however you would lose your landline number.

Also we can not guaratee that there will be no interruption of the service. If you have only one telefone line to your appartment it has to be deactivated first and then activated with the new contract again.

May I ask why you want to change? Do you just want more flexibility or do you plan to end the contract completely in the near future?

Kind regards

Giulia

Hi Giulia,

Thank you for your answer! The main reason I wanted to swtich to a flexible contract is that I prefer the idea of canceling the contract a month head if needed. However, since you mentioned the consequences of switching to new contract, I think I will stick to the old one. By the way, can I cancel the old one by giving O2 3 months notice or I can only cancel it e.g in September every year like it is written on my contract?

Regards,

Kristen

The contract runs for 12 months at a time so can only be terminated by giving three months' notice to the end of the current term. If the end of the term is December then you have to give notice by September in the year you want the contract to end.

Hi there,

I am new to O2 and I got my contract transferred from the last tenant at the apartment. I found out that in my account, a option called “DSL Surf Upgrade Unlimited” was booked, which I did not order. I asked the tenant and he had no clue as well. Do anyone know how could this happen? Thanks!

Regards,

Kristen

Hello @Kristen,

it seems like @bs0 was already able to answer your question? If there is still something where we could shed some light on, feel free to ask, we will answer as soon as possible :-)

Regards,

Lars

@o2_Lars Indeed yes, I do have another question. I noticed there is a “DSL upgrade surf unlimited” in my contract and a “100% Rabatt DSL upgrade surf unlimited”, what are they and do they mean I actually do not need to pay for it?

Regards,

Kristen

Hello @Kristen,

if your contract also includes an item called 100% Rabatt it means that there are no additional costs for the DSL upgrade surf unlimited package :-)

This happened in some older tariffs to transfer them from a tariff with a limited amount of data to an unlimited plan :-)

Regards,

Lars
