@Padmanath what exact router you have? If you have an O2 Homebox is the router directly rent from o2 or buy at ebay Kleinanzeigen etc.
@Padmanath If you do not rent a Homebox from O2 the phone will never work.
Than buy a Fritzbox 7530 from AVM.
Hi,
Thank you @Joe Doe and @schluej.
I have an O2 Homebox 6441. I could connect the handset to the o2-Homebox through DECT.
I see in my O2 contract, the following sentence is striked out. “Ich wunsche die ubermittlung meiner Rufnummer an den angerufen Anschluss”. It seems the telefon line is disabled, only the internet is active.
Is this correct? Do I need to buy a Fritzbox 7530? Thank you.
If you don’t rent the Homebox from O2, than you have to buy a e.g. a Fritzbox 7530.
The Homebox is an Rent only Routern from O2.
if you don’t rent the router you will not get any phone Funktion.
@schluej I do rent O2-Homebox 6441. As I said above, I could connect the router to my handset
through DECT. However, I could not make any calls. It seems the telefon line is blocked. The internet connection works perfectly fine. I am not sure what I should do to get the telefon service activated. Thank you,
@Padmanath no you don’t tell us that you rent a Homebox from O2. You tell us that u have an O2 Homebox!
If you have rent a homebox from o2 than the phone should work. You have to assign the phone number to the DECT phone.
You could also try a factory default reset. Press the reset button for 20 seconds. Buy in any way the phone number should assign (Rufnummerplan) to the DECT Number. And you should löschen the Leitung1 phone number assignment.
If the Homebox does not show a phone number.
Than try a Werksreset = factory default reset.
If this is not working than
- you don’t rent the homebox from O2 or
- you have to call the service hotline.
Thank you. Factory default reset worked.
Hello @Padmanath, welcome to our o2 Community and thank you for your feedback :-)
I am glad to hear that everything is working now as it should. In many cases resetting a router or the Homebox fixes issues quite fast.
If you encounter additional questions, feel free to ask, we will answer as soon as possible :-)
