Receiving messages - esp OTP


i have problem receiving OTP messages from my bank. Could you check if my profile has any changes?

I am receiving other messages from the bank but not OTP messages. I already checked with the bank and they verified that the messages show that they are delivered from their side.

I just checked your tariff. We did not block any ingoing SMS-messages. You also confirm that you receive other SMS-messages. So, generally there is no problem in receiving SMS-messages.

 

Therefore, I cannot find any reason why you should not receive OTP-messages from your bank. Do these OTP-messages arrive on your phone via SMS?

 

I regret that I cannot help you in this matter.

I was on work travel hence could not reply. But yes otp messages I should get via SMS... But I still am not. It comes via short numbers system generated messages. Please see if any type of sms from any type of sender is blocked. I still have the problem. 😞

Hey @UmaG,
special numbers can’t be blocked by our system :/ Could you please tell me a) when you should have recieved the last TAN (Date / Time ) b) when did you successfully recieved a TAN the last time (Date / Time) ? With these information i will open a ticket for our technican.

I am also facing the same issue, not able to receive OTP from my bank to O2 number,

When I checked with the bank they said check this:

Ensure that SMS delivery especially from short codes is not blocked by your mobile Service Provider.

Could you please check this?

Hi,

exactly the same issue here. OTP messages from a bank outside Germany do not arrive at German O2 mobile. The bank has already checked with their technician and the messages are sent but not received. The problem should be at the side of O2. The bank has recommended to check with the mobile provider if alphanumeric senders (not numbers, but characters) are blocked. OTP messages worked fine until November 2019 for me. After that they stopped coming.

 

O2, could you please help?

Our technicians already checked a few days ago if we received OTP-messages from your bank for you. And we came to the result, that there was no income of SMS or OTP-messages from your bank Alpha Bank (Greece) in our network.

 

Therefore, I would like to ask you to contact your bank again.

Your SMS are not blocked either.
Have you received Tans in the past via SMS from the bank to your phone number or has it never worked before?

I have received Tans from my bank in the past before. I stopped getting my bank sms 2 months ago.

In order to check the reason for not getting the bank´s OTP´s, I have one further question: 

Do you get any SMS at all within Germany and from another country to Germany? 

 

I have just checked everything, but we have not blocked incoming text messages.

 

It may have to do with the connection of the provider in the country abroad. If this is the case, we have no influence on it.

I am now living in the Netherlands.

I do get other SMS from Germany and other countries. It is just my bank SMS that do not arrive.

There is nothing that we can do to solve the issue. Perhaps the bank offers also another procedure for you?

I have problems receiving OTP message from any platform. I receive regular messages but no OTP. I am having issues with verification because of that. Need help in the same

This is strange because when you get the other SMS, the OTP should come in too. We cannot technically filter or block SMS.

Please contact the institut where you should get the OTP from.

I also started experiencing the very same issue since last month. My Sri Lankan bank (HNB Sri Lanka) sent the OTP to my O2 number and it works pretty fine till last month. Since this month I started not receiving the message.

However, I suspected them first, hence I lodged a case directly to them. Their techincal team did a verification process with me, and they pushed sample text messages to my German number which didn’t work at all. they confirmed that the OTP is sent as usual, hence this should be checked with my provider, which is O2, hence this message.

I just got it confirmed that I do not get any message from Sri lanka. A while ago two Sri Lankan mobile numbers tried to send me SMS messages which failed. They get the error “delivery unsuccessful” . 

 

What could be the issue, please? I’m suprised since this was working super fine until few weeks ago.

I can send SMSs to Sri Lankan numbers. They receive it.

But,  I just figured out that I go not get any SMS from Sri lankan numbers. (+94 country code).

My phone number is +491******451

My device is iPhone SE with iOS 14.
