Hello O2,

I have Optical fiber connection and I have two questions:

1-I want to switch my modem to a new one (currently the i 'm using Telekom Modem 2 ), can i simply go to my account and add the new modem ID and it should work ?.

2- I 'm moving from the modem to this modem ZYXEL PMG3000-D20B Gigbait GPON SFP-Modul, it is designed for TElekom so I think in my case it should work because the Telekom Modem works, I just want you to confirm it to me.

Thank you

Hello @Nawart,

you can easily change the modem ID in Mein o2, the direkt Link ist Zugangsdaten.

Please note that the new device should already be connected and switched on. The registration can take about 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with your router, but if it is compatible with Deutsche Telekom’s fiber-optic service, there shouldn’t be any problems.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Best regards

Giulia

Hi,

you can change the ONT you use, but you’ll need to register it with your ISP. I believe this should be doable both in “Mein o2” as well as via customer support (on the phone). There is also an english speaking support.

For what ONT you can use, you can refer yourself to the technical specification sheet called “Schnittstellenbeschreibung” to see what the ONT needs to support to work with your connection.

If the Zyxel ONT is designed for Telekom FTTH connections, which you say it is, and your FTTH connection is realized via Telekom’s infrastructure, then this should work.
