How to announce ending a contract

Dear O2 service,

I have an O2 mobile contract that has a "spätester Kündigungstermin" in March and I would like to announce that I don't want to extend the contract for another year.

I went to the O2 shop on Tauentzienstraße 8 in Berlin to announce that I don't want to extend the contract. A helpful O2 employee at the shop assisted me by writing and sending a fax to the headquarters, stating that I don't want to extend my contract. This was in October 2018. However, it seems as that didn't work and that I still have yet to announce that I don't want to extend my contract for one more year.

My question is: Am I missing something or did the fax work to end my contract? - meaning, will the contract end in June or will it be extended for one more year?

Next question: If the fax didn't work. What do I have to do so that my contract won't be extended for another year?

thanks for your reply.

Yes, you are right. Your contracts will end on 5th June 2019. You will receive a confirmation letter within the next days.

Of course, it may be that you will still receive invoices after the deactivation of your contracts. But you only will be charged until 5th June 2019.

thanks for your message.

I regret that you like to cancel your contracts. We already received your cancellation letter.

Therefore, everything is fine. Your contracts will end on 5th June 2019.

What is the reason for terminating your contracts? Can we do anything so that you keep your contracts still?

Thanks for your reply. It's good to hear that it was finally recieved.
I moved out of the country, that's the reason for my cancellation.

Just to be sure - the three month cancellation time starts in March (not June), right? - meaning; I won't be recieving any bills for my contract after June/July, right?

Should I cancel my contract for you to offer me 10gb/month or can you do the offer without canceling? So we both don't waste time..
