Getting a replacement prepay sim card in store

Why have you changed the rules for replacement prepay SIM cards? I wasn't over the moon having to pay €10 for a replacement SIM when in the UK we get them for free. But I was only in Germany for the weekend and wanted to move from Micro to Nano so I could use my O2 number (which is a good number) in a newer phone. But they said it wasn't possible in two shops in Frankfurt. They told me I have to ring customer services or order online. Why couldn't they just charge me for a SIM and reassign the number to the replacement card...like almost everywhere else in the world?

Hello DavidChow,

I'm not quite sure if I really understand the problem.

Here in Germany a normal exchange Sim for prepaid costs 10,00€. It's the normal price here.

Or did you mean something else?

Kind regards,

Jessica ☺️

Hallo Jessica. I would have paid the €10 fee but I was told I can only order a replacement SIM by post, which was no good for me as I was only visiting Germany for the weekend. Cutting my micro to nano SIM card was not an option in case it was damaged and I could not use my o2 number.

Hi DavidChow,

oh yes, I'm sorry. Replacement cards you only get via the postal way.

Hello alexxxxzzz,

you can order a new card in your online portal! ☺️

Kind regards,

Jessica
