Hi there,
I would like to cancel my o2 contract. I have 2 numbers and would like to cancel both of them. Could you please let me know the procedure on how to do the same?

Thanks

Hi @Deepak_CB,

welcome to the o2 community!

Too bad to see you wanting to leave us! Is there maybe anything we can do to change your mind? 🙂 A new contract with a different tariff or a more fitting data volume, maybe?
If you describe what you're looking for we can make you an offer right here in the forum.

If you really want to cancel your contract, you can preregister your cancellation in your Mein o2 account:

Tarif & SIM-Karte -> Vertrag verwalten -> Kündigung vormerken -> Weiter button.

You will then need to confirm your cancellation by calling our hotline.

Just in case you don't reach an English speaking person or you don't feel quite comfortable speaking German, you can also send in your written cancellation by registered mail to the following address:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
Kundenbetreuung
90345 Nürnberg

Please make sure to include your customer number as well as all the phone numbers you wish to cancel.

Your contracts will then be terminated by the end of their current terms, i.e. in January 2020.

Best regards,
Jan.

Hi there,
Thank you for the reply. In 2015, I bought one sim and the sales person of the store made me also get another extra sim which he said at that time would not be charged but later after one year both of my sims are charged I do not even use the second sim. Total cost of my bills in last year have been €40 per month. This is really expensive for me. My data plan is also just 4 GB / Month which is too low.
The only better deal I would be okay with is Min 10 GB 4G data and EU Sim for €10 / Month which some of my friends already have. If not it is fine.

PS: I have already written a letter for cancellation to the above address. The only reason I decided to cancel is because I was kind of tricked into buying an extra sim which I never used and also when I went to the shop asking how I can cancel, they just told me to write a letter to the above address. They never really tried to understand my problem or reason behind why I was trying to cancel the contract. The store is in o2 store in xxxxxxxxxxxx.
[Edit: address edited due to data privacy, @o2_Jan].

Hi @Deepak_CB,

I am sorry to hear that your experience in one of our shops was this unfortunate.
That is of course not how things should go, instead you should get a contract that actually fits your needs.

And I have to admit, the tariffs we currently offer are in a different range than what you prefer, so at the moment, I simply cannot offer you a new contract you would be happy with.

At least, I can tell you that your letter for cancellation has arrived and will be dealt with within the next days.

If you ever feel like looking for a new contract with o2, feel free to ask here in the forum, we'd be happy to make you an offer you can review for a couple of days, and if there was something not quite right about it after you agreed to it, you'd have a right of revocation for 14 days.

Best regards,
Jan.
