Tp-Link VR600V not able to connect to Internet

Hi,
This morning I had the connection from Telekom and the guy said everything was okay. When I tried to make the settings of my new (it got dispatched yesterday) TP-LinkVR600V Router and after following the Quick Setup steps (several times) I always ended up in a screen saying that there's no Internet Connection and that I need to change the parameters or call my ISP provider... I already called O2 and now apparently I need to wait 48 hours for them to tell me what to do next!

Anyone has had a similar problem and knows how to fix it?

Thanks!

If the device is new, please make sure that it uses the newest firmware. Get it from TP-Link and install it on the device.

If you already used the device, please do a factory reset (and also check the firmware version).

Hint for setup: Please remember that according to the interface description it is necessary to use VLAN-ID=7 on the WAN-Port for the PPPoE connection. Maybe your device does it automatically if you choose the correct provider name in setup (TP-Link uses the term "O2 (DT resale)").

Hi! I will check about the firmware version! Regarding the provider name I only get 3 options from TP-Link: O2_VDSL, O2_1/32_ADSL & O2_1/35_ADSL... I don't have the DT Resale on the drop-down menu...

I assume you need at first a firmware update!
Check afterwards.

Do you get a DSL connection?

If your O2 DSL user name includes s93, you have an VDSL connection.
If you can not choose a provider name in the setup that includes something like "o2 VDSL(DT resale)" or "O2 BSA" you can try the "O2_VDSL" or something like "other provider".
As we do not know the term the chinese guys have chosen, maybe the TP-Link support might be helpful for setting up your device.
