o2 DSL contract cancellation

Hello O2,

I am leaving Germany on December to home country and for this reason I wanted to cancel my DSL contract. I have read on internet that on special condition "leaving Germany" contract can be cancelled before fixed 24th months. Also it mentioned that I need to provide the written Cancellation letter along with de-registration document or New employment job contract letter.

Today I visited Rathaus for the de-registration. They informed me that de-registration only possible week before my departure.

So, can i send the written cancellation letter to O2 now, so that there will be 3 months notice period by the end of December. This procedure will work for cancellation? Kindly provide me your suggestion for this case.

    Hi uidu2603,

    First of all, please check if your contract has a 24 month duration as we also offer contracts without duration. They can be cancelled without the deregistration with 4 weeks notice.

    If your contract has 24 months duration, it can only be cancelled earlier with the deregistration form.

    Hi o2_Giulia,

    My contract has 24 moths duration. End of 24 months is August 2019.

    I went to Rathaus/Bürgerbüro to ask about the De-registration form. They told me that only couple days before the my departure this form will be given. After getting this Form, I do not have much time to do the formalities for Contract Cancellation and send the router back to O2.

    Kindly advise me how to handle this situation.
