Hello,

I've tried several routers (including the standard o2 router) and have this problem with the internet dropping out. After some time it will usually come back on and then drop out again. Windows diagnostics says the "DNS SERVER IS NOT RESPONDING". Sometimes turning the router off and on will have it work again for a while.

Can someone from O2 assist? My wife needs to work from home today and is having trouble :-)

Ok. Well, it does affect ALL devices (android and mac laptop) so I assume it's something either with the router configuration or O2 DNS rather than specifically Windows 10.

But like I say I'll try and DNS manual configuration on the router.

thanks again.

Hello,

if it is a DNServer problem you could try to set the DNServer manuelly in you Adapter settings:

Are you connecting with WLAN or with cabel?

Is it the xDSL line dropping or is it the local network? Are you able to connect to the router web page (with ip Address) if it happens?

Hallo,

Thank you for your reply. I am connecting via router (fritzbox 7590). All devices have the same problem when connecting through the router.

The local network seems ok and I can access the FritzBox interface no problem. Is there an option to set a DNS server address with the FritzBox?

Is there any reported issues with the DNS servers with O2?

thank you again

Heimnetz -> Netzwerk then ip Adresse and IPv4 Adresen and lokaler DNS Server.

maybe you should choose expert view at the 3 dots upper right corner.

Therer should be a problem with the dhcp client from W10, Maby you try to set the addresses manually.

Many thanks schleuj.

"There should be a problem with the dhcp client from W10". Does this mean there IS a problem with the o2 DNS server as far as you're aware? I don't know what W10 refer to.

In any case, I will try your suggestions.

Thank you.

No this mean ther is a problem with the DHCP Client from Windows 10...

Noting else. You could configure the Fritzbox to the DNS 9.9.9.9 or any other if you thing that O2 cause the problem.

Or you could set each client to a separate dns Server.
