How to contact customer support from non-O2 moobile phone?

How on earth can I contact the customer support from a non-O2 mobile phone!? When I call the hotline for non-O2 customers 0176 888 55 222, it asks for my O2 festnetz nummer, which I enter, and then it says it is invalid (guess what, thats the number that is shown in my account! I stopped being a O2 customer 3 months ago.)! Of course O2 does not accept calls from non-O2 numbers on any other number!

 

So much for a customer-friendly experience!

    You can try the following: when asked to enter your phone number just dial "#". When asked again dial "#" again. Most systems give up after the second or third wrong "answer" and connect you to a real person.
