DSL light blinks slowly and then faster but no sync

Hello,

Today I received the o2 technician who activated my new contract at home. I connected my 4421 router and the DSL light blinks slowly, then faster and finally turns off. After that, the process is repeated again and again. For some reason, my router cannot sync with o2 line (I have original wires, everything is well connected). I reset my router but the problem persists. I called  Storungsannhame but they are out of working hours. What else can I do (besides wait for Saturday morning to get help at o2 Office)?

So as I suspected ... your router 4421 can only use ADSL and you need one that supports VDSL.

Both of you mentioned router can VDSL.

    Why you said that? For me that does not makes any sense, my router was working before and it should work now too. Sync problems could be related to the line itself. In fact, the router tries to sync, but it's not possible.

    Which tariff do you have?
    If it is a "DSL M" or higher, you need a router that can VDSL. The 4421 is an ADSL router.

    I have xS tariff (the cheapest one), which is suitable for an ADSL router.

    I called them and they said that I need a VDSL router (apparently my 4421 router is ADSL). Can I use a 6431 or 6641 router? Could you recommend me one who just work correctly? ( Don't need to be a new router model)

    Hello @mreigen 

    please do not buy a used o2 DSL router. These are devices that a customer can rent for the time of the contract or it is provided for the time of the contract. After that it has to be returned and we can not and will not provide support with an o2 router that was bought somewhere else and was not provided by us.

    If you want to buy a router on the free market just ensure that it supports VDSL vectoring and IP phone.
