DSL Contract termination

I have sent a letter to Telefonica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG, [...] to cancel/terminate my contract dated on 7th August 2018 because I was leaving Germany end of August. I did not receive any feedback or confirmation from from o2. This month (Sept) I received an email from o2 stating that I need to pay for this month. Please check if my contract has been canceled or please cancel my contract immediately because I do not want to pay for something I have already canceled for.

Hello Nicholas,
I had a look into this. We recieved your letter of cancelation on August the 13th. The grace period for cancelation is four weeks to the end of the month. So this contract will be deactivated on September the 30th.

you will find the bill on our online portal under "Mein o2" as all the bills before.

Hi. I received an invoice for Oct requesting me to pay. I assumed my contract has ended on Sept 30. Please advise.

Hi nicolas.
Your DSL was deactivated as requested on october 1th. The invoice you received is the so called "Abschlussrechnung" which means it is the last invoice you will get.
