Extremely low speed with O2 Home M (Speed under 1mbps)


Hello, O2 Team,

I have been using my HomeSpot since August 2023 and everything seemed OK. Normally i had speed around 5-20 Mbps, sometimes even more. But suddenly, on Monday (21.04) the internet speed dropped under 1mbps (around 0.25-0.8 Mbps, rarely around 1-1.5mbps). I’ve tried everything, but nothing helps. I went to the O2 store where I signed my HomeSpot contract, and the worker said that there are some problems with the network on my street, and I should wait until next Monday. So, today is this Monday (29.04) and nothing really changed. For a few minutes speed became good this evening but then it dropped again. I also have a friend who lives on the same floor with me, and he also uses o2 but has no problems. Here is a list if things I tried to do, in order to fix my internet:
1) Changed preferred network in router settings (Did it a few times, on different days)
2) Tried changing router position, the connection is very good, but speed is still very poor
3) Restarted router
4) I even tried to put the sim-card directly into my phone and tested speed there, but it also didn’t change anything
5) Went to https://www.o2online.de/netz/netzstoerung and typed my address there, it also says that everything is ok.

So I tried my best to find the problem, but I simply can’t do anything. It looks like there is some problem with a Sim-Card, because speed remains low, no matter in which device i put the Sim. At this point, I simply don’t know what to do.

Sometimes the speed even drops to complete zero

The upload speed is also strange, sometimes its also under 1mbps and sometimes its around 10-15 mbps (like on that screenshot)

Maybe you can give me a street that's near your home? Perhaps we can try to get a better connection quality.

Well, I am currently in Essen and my street is Ruhrtalstraße (Kettwig)

I am sorry for our late answer. That is not so nice that the speed of your internet connection via Home Spot dropped since end of April. 

At the place you gave us there are currently no disturbances registrered by our technicians, did you register a the low speed when checking your address on our Live-check?

Do you use a Homespot router from us or your own LTE or 5G router?
