My contract ended in March 2021, but I am still getting charged. Why?


I moved from Germany in February 2021 and, because of it, I ended my contract with O2. I was notified I should be charged a cancelation fee the same amount I used to pay monthly. Therefore, when I was charged in April, I assumed it was this cancellation fee. But then I was charged again this month, May 2021. I entered in MeinO2 account and it says my contract was indeed cancelled, but they will charge me until March 2022? What is going on? I don’t even own the SIM card anymore.

How did you submit the termination request? Did you send in the required documents for early termination? Did you receive confirmation?

I called first and then sent in the required documents. I even got a call from O2 after I have left Germany confirming my choice of terminating the contract. This information is also available on the MeinO2 page, but for some reason, I cannot attach the screenshot of ithere.

I'd be happy to have a look for you. You only sent us a notice of termination at the end of the contract term, not a notice of termination due to moving abroad. You wrote that the confirmation should be sent by email because you are moving, but that is not the same. You also did not send us the necessary documents, so your contract was terminated at the end of the regular term.
If you want to request a termination due to moving abroad, please send us the completed form with the requested documents. Extraordinary cancellation because of moving abroad
