If you send in a letter of cancelation a contract will end to the next possible date according the its runtime. So for example a contract that runs for 2 years will end after this period if the cancelation is recieved within the cancelation period. If you want to cancel to an earlier date for example due to leaving the country some additional documents are needed.
Is it always the same amount of money that is deducted from your account? What does the invoice say regarding the runtime and the cancelation status of the contract? You can access this by logging in with your phone number and the password that you set up yourself under Mein o2.
