which router should i choose for ipv4/6 issues

Hi,
I have O2 Homebox 6741 and arguably it is the wrost router in many ways.

So let's keep things simple. Router support both protocol at the same time and works fine too. Who could have thought that!! The problems are:

  1. my fire tv stick only works fine with ipv4 sometimes 6 but generally when it connects with ipv6 then i get no internet so I have to restart the modem. After restarting firetv  stick automatically takes ipv4 and works fine.
  2. My range extender also works on ipv4 so when ipv6 problem starts then i also can't use internet via extender.

My all the other device works fine because it automatically takes ipv6 from the beginning. When the problem arise then I can't use my vpn too. Like if VPN showing ny current IP in ipv6 then it refuse to connect. Others time when everything works perfectly then I don't have problems with vpn.

What can i do to solve this problem? I can split the protocol from router level because fire TV stick doesn't give you the option but for that i have to change the modem itself. Or i could use a router then use it but then i will have two devices which is i don't want.

So suggest me a router+modem which is supported with o2. With some research i like 7590 but too expensive. I need something around€50. Any other suggestions is also appreciated.

@Hydraa Try to get used Fritzbox 7520 for about 50 Euro at EBay oder Kleinanzeigen.

You can switch to English menu in the box, the box have 2.4 / 5 ghz wifi and you can switch off IPv6. And two lan ports.

Or if you have more money… any 7530/7590 with or without AX.

Hello @Hydraa

I see that Joe Doe and schluej have already given you some tips, great 🤗

Does that already help you? Or do you still need support?

Best regards
Cora
