Hello.

I moved to Germany in May and with online translation I managed to order a O2o SIM card with Internet-Pack-M last week. I received the SIM card on Tuesday but failed to activate it online.  I have read several forum threads that are on the topic and it seems like the site is simply not working.

I understand that the phone hotlines are probably the only way to activate my SIM card, but I just called and my limited German was not good enough to understand what the guy that picked up was talking about (he spoke no English).  I think he told me to call tomorrow but I wasn't sure.

Earlier today, I also sent in a fax asking for the activation but have had no reply.

Is there any advice for me to activate my SIM card?  Thanks.

Is this where you tried to activate your SIM?

If not, try it here.

Unfortunately many parts of the o2 website are broken at the moment, or at least they don't work for everybody. If this doesn't work you don't really have a choice but to contact the Hotline and if necesssary ask to speak to someone who can speak English. Failing that you could also try writing an Email to vertragskunden-kontakt@cc.o2online.de and requesting a callback if they can't help you directly. Reply may take a couple of days though.

Maybe a moderator will be able to help you here as well - try sending a PM to o2_Henning or o2_Vivian.

bs0, thank you very much for your prompt reply.

Yes, that is the link I used.  It comes up with the "aus technischen Gründen steht Ihnen unser System derzeit nicht zur Verfügung" error message now.  Before, I could type in my Kartennummer and Persoenliche Kundenkennzahl, but it ended up with a similar error message.  Looks like something that won't be fixed in the near future.

Thank you for the email address (which I could not find anywhere else), but it seems like I will have to wait a while for a reply if they could not even reply to my fax.

I think I will have to ask one of my colleagues at the office to phone in for me - something I wanted to avoid (that's why I applied to O2 so I could do everything online... or so I thougt).

I've lived in England for 9 years so I'm used to bad service, but if it's in a language I don't understand it's a bit tough 😉

Update:

O2_tanja contacted me by PM yesterday evening after I posted and kindly activated my SIM card for me.  I don't want to increase the jobs of the forum moderators but it seems like they may be the best bet to get something done quickly and efficiently.  I should have come to the forum straight away when I had the problem.

Anyway, I am now a happy customer thanks to Tanja.  Problem solved

Can you tell me how did you change language to English? I bought the sim yesterday and I am not able to figure out any message.
