Very slow mobile internet LTE

Hi there,

I just got an O2 contract (20GB option), but the internet is very slow. Usual apps like Youtube and Instagram just don’t load. It’s not possible to use the internet at all - all the apps says “no internet”, then I need to restart a few times the app until it works (but very slow).

I have signal 3 lines out of 4. And the internet connection says LTE.

Any idea why this happens?

Thanks.

Hello @resetyournick,

thank you for your enquiry and welcome to the o2 community!

Does this only affect mobile data or do you also have problems receiving and sending messages via SMS or making phone calls?
And does the problem only occur in one location or in all locations where you want to use your device?
What model of mobile phone are you currently using?
To check the network on site and see if there might be a problem, you can use the Live Check from o2. This allows you to have the network checked at your location. If there is already a known problem, possibly overloaded base stations or similar, there will be a message in the Live Check. Otherwise, you can also submit an error message directly there.
The Live-Check you can find here: Live-Check.

And information according the Live-Check in English you can find here:

Kind regards
Jessica :nerd:

Hi o2_Jessica

Thank you for your response.

It only affects mobile data. I have no issues with receiving calls on SMSes. I also have this problem in the area around my house (supermarket, the park nearby, etc.). It must be something at area level that blocks the signal.

I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I have also checked the Live-Check and it says there are no issues with 4G in the area, but seems like there are.

Please do something about it, it’s not possible to you your service at all :(

Thank you.

Dear @resetyournick ,

if you are only having problems with the network in your vicinity, it is most likely due to an overload or a failure of a base station. If nothing is displayed in Livecheck, please report it there so that the technical department can be informed and take a look at the problem. How to do this is described in the article that @o2_Jessica linked to above.
Kind regards,

Andrea
