My contract ends in october, and I would like to transfer it to a friend. Will my friend be able to keep his number or he would need to get my number? Also, will the validit of the contract be expanded?

Is your friend a customer of o2? If not, your friend can just take over the contract together with your mobile phone number. Afterwards, your friend can just port his own number to this contract.
