Hi! I have 20 eruo contract for student with O2 which lasts 2 years. I’m currently outside of Europe, and I found I have to pay nearly extra 60 euro last month, I do have a local SIM card to use so I don’t need any O2 service, how can I avoid that extra charge the next month? Pull out the card directly or Can I to get in touch with O2 to suspend the contract for a couple of months?

If you are talking about Dual-SIM, just disable the SIM card or disable data on it in the menu. Suspending the contract for a while is possible, but it might not be worth it to you.

Hi @Andrew777

welcome to our English community. Nice that you find the way to our community. I understand that you do not like to have a charge if you do not use the sim-card outside of Europe.

Was the suggestion of @Droggelbecher already convenient to you?

You have further 2 possibilities:

If you wish to suspend your contract for at least 2 months and for a maximum period of 12 months, please fill out this form: suspending your contract The break period will then be added to your duration period at the end. You will not receive any basic fees during the break-period.

Please make sure that you fulfill the requirements mentioned in the form: We need an official proof of the temporary stay abroad of the contract holder during the entire period of the suspension (certificate of study, employment contract, confirmation from the employer, marching orders for soldiers, a medical certificate or certificate from the hospital in the case of a stay at a health resort).

Another possibility is to end your contract because of moving abroad. You find here all instructions for the extraordinary cancellation because of moving abroad .

I hope I could help you with this information.

Loving greetings,

Tobias
