Start two contract for myself and my wife


Hello,

We are totally new in Germany and I wanted to start a contract with phone for me and my wife. 

Since she is not working and doesn’t have German bank account (she had bank account originated in other European country), I wanted to set my bank account for the monthly fees. Is it possible to start 2 contract with same name and bank account or is there any contract for couples(something like share tariffs or something like that) ?

First I prefer that you should test the o2 network. You can order a free of charge an o2 test card for 30 days with unlimited data and calls to German landline / mobile. Automatically the card will cancel after 30 days

You can order later a contract for you and a partner card on your name with 50% discount.

Last hint. I strongly recommend for you and your wife contracts ordered over online or phone. You can object to these contracts in Germany within 14 days.  This is not possible in stationary shops.  And please keep in mind that contracts with a subsidized mobile phone can be difficult for you to conclude at first, as you do not yet have a credit history in Germany.

I had already the O2 prepaid and the network is kind of ok and works well for us. 

Today I ordered a contract for myself and after an hour I get this email:

Thank you for your order of October 27th, 2022. After an internal check, we had to adjust the amount of the deposit for this process - but don't worry: the total price and your choice of tariff will not change.

If you would like to know the reason for the rejection, please write to:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG, information office, 90345 Nuremberg

In any case, please provide your full address details (including first and last name) and your date of birth.

Since the topic of data protection is very important at o2, careful handling of personal data is very important to us. Please understand that we can only answer questions about your rejection in writing.

They just charged 181 euros. Is this related to SCHUFA and my credit score? Or I Have to send the an mail about that?

@goodarzi73 It is related because you are „fresh“ here in Germany with no background at SCHUFA and so on. Security measure by o2 or other providers here in Germany.  Hopefully it won't be that bad in six months or later.

It seems I have to pay that amount and there is no more choice about that.

@goodarzi73 Paying the deposit is no guarantee that the order will not be rejected later.  Actually it should work but after paying the deposit.

the increased down payment serves to be able to carry out an order despite of possible creditworthiness problems. After the payment, it should actually work.
