Scammed into upgrading ?

Benutzerebene 2

Hi,

I wonder if you might be able to help me. I got a call from a number saying they were O2:

+4917688854750

They were saying I should update my mobile tariff to O2 Free L or something, to avoid problems in the network and that it would cost me the same as now.

Since I was a bit distracted, it somehow all sounded OK to me and they had me agree to it on the call.

Right after the call I started really thinking about how it didn’t make too much sense and looked into that number and it saw several people complaining about the number.

Is this a scam ? Do you know of similar things ? Is there a way to block any upgrades they might trigger ?

Thank you!

Keep an eye on your inbox. If you do receive a new or changed contract you don’t want then you should cancel it within 14 days via email to widerruf@cc.o2online.de.

If I send the cancellation form to that email address, will it just revert to my previous contract automatically or do I need to be careful to mention that ?

(I don’t want to lose the phone number)

Hi @LoneWolfPT

Sorry for the confusion when upgrading your mobile contract

Do you still need assistance with your revocation?  If so, we're happy to help.

Best Regards Matze

Hi @o2_Matze ,

Thanks for coming back to me. I sent the email to widerruf@cc.o2online.de like mentioned by @bs0  above. I did it just today actually.

Is that the correct way to handle things or should do something else in addition ? When I cancel this upgrade, I go back to my original contract right ?

Hi @LoneWolfPT.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Please excuse the long response time.
If you don't want the change, a revocation (within 14 days from delivery of the revocation notice) is the way to go. Then it will be reversed and the tariff will be set up again as before the tariff change.

Kind regards,

Larissa
