Scammed by o2 operator

I signed an o2 contract last month, and in the shop I asked if I can pay the connection fee in cash. The operator said that I can. I paid 40 euros in cash (which I also never got the change for it)  and the operator said that he will deposit it into my o2 account. One month passed and now that I received my bill, I see that the connection fee is there. I reached out to o2 via chat support and it looks like that operator never deposited the money into my account.
It didn’t occur to me that the operator might just decide not to top up my account, that’s why I didn’t ask for any kind of receipt or something. I mean the whole idea of going to an official o2 store is that you can trust the operators there.
Now that the shops are closed duo to the virus outbreak, I can’t even go there and confront him about it.

Given the chance of me getting back my money is next to none, I wanted to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Hi @samsaz,

thanks for your message.

I regret that something went wrong with the cash-payment in the o2 shop.

Did you get a receipt for the cash payment?

I look forward to your response.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

They did not gave me any receipts and being in an o2 shop it did not occur to me to ask for a receipt.

Hello there!

The missing receipt will likely be a problem.

We can switch to personal messages to discuss the details, so our shop department can look into it.

Due to the current situation however, getting in contact with the o2 Shop will take longer since our o2 Shops are closed for the time being.

Please let me know if you want to switch to PNs to discuss the details.

Viele Grüße,

Kurt

Hello @samsaz ,

feel free to contact us here again if you have further Questions or want to switch to PM .

Hello @o2_Kurt,

I would like to switch to PM, so that you could check with that o2 shop and possibly resolve my issue. I don’t mind if it takes a long time.

Hi @samsaz,

well, without a receipt of the payment, I see little chance to solve your issue.

The best is that you go to the o2 shop where you ordered the contract. The shops are open from today onward.

Loving greetings,

Tobias
