I have been using the Prepaid S Package with 8gb since june, it has always automatically extended, so far twice, until yesterday. I have enough balance (around 10€) for the extension which costs 9,99€, however they charge with a surf dayflat tarif out of nowhere for 2 consecutive days. This didn't happen before, why does it happen this time?

Edit o2_Kathi 02.09.24 Title adapted for a better overview

Something like this happens when there is not enough credit available for the extension. Did you not top up your credit on time?

i had enough credit for the extension, but it was reduced by the surf dayflat charges, which makes it insufficient for the extension

contact the prepaid chat tomorrow.

Hello @evelyne2809 ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

That’s of course an unfortunate sequence of bookings, have you already contacted the chat as advised here, or should we take a look at things?

Kind regards, Sven

Hello @evelyne2809,

even if you haven't replied so far, I wanted to ask you about the current status!

Hi, I didn’t have time to look into the problem so I haven't contacted through Prepaid-Chat yet. Firstly, thank you very much for checking up on my status; after the second charge of surf day flat, I decided to top up my O2 credit and got another Data Package, I’m not charged with surf day flat anymore since then. However, I would still like to know the initial cause of why I was charged at the very first place when I had enough credit for extension, so that I can avoid this problem for my next due date.

Hello @evelyne2809,

Dayflat is only charged when no data package is active. This can cause your credit to run out before you can book the package. It's good that you've activated automatic refill so that your package is always booked automatically when you have enough credit. Glad you've found a solution! If you have any further problems, we'll be happy to look into them.

Kind regards, Maren 🍄
