Prepaid Contract Cancellation

Hello Sir,

I have prepaid sim card of o2 and I have applied for another provider for the same number as I want to take my o2 number with me. They mailed me that your previous provider didn’t accept our request. Please contact your old provider first. He will give the release for the early transfer of phone numbers ("opt-in") at your request. One more thing I have 8 euros balance in my o2 account. Now tell me what to do for early transfer of my o2 number?

Regards,

Bhargav Makwana

Hi @Bhargav Makwana

welcome to our English community.

As you were told by your new provider, we first of all have to release your number. This is what I have just done. You will receive a text message (SMS) as confirmation.

Please contact now your new provider and ask again for the porting of your number. We will charge you with 6,82 € for the porting. Therefore, make sure that you have this amount as credit on your card.

If you still have a credit on your card after the porting of your number, please use this document: http://g.o2.de/pre-auszahlung We will then transfer the amount to your personal bank account.

I hope I could answer all your questions.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Dear Sir, Madam,

I want to cancel O2 prepaid for 2 lines since I and my family has backed to Tokyo in June 2021.

I sent letter to O2 for cancellation but it didn’t work and O2 still charges every month through direct debit.

Please advise how to cancel my O2 prepaid for 2 lines.

Looking forward to receiving your reply.

Best regards,

Hi!

First off all, enter Mein o2 and cancel all booked packages here (Abbestellen marks already booked packages, click on it an cancel the package "Zu sofort"): https://www.o2online.de/ecare-prepaid/tarifdetails

Than enter this page and remove all check marks and confirm the changes with “Speichern” : https://www.o2online.de/ecare-prepaid/automatische-aufladung

When did you send the letter to o2? As a normal letter or as a registered letter?

Dear Sir, Madam,

Thank you for your kind instruction.  I took “check mark” on both top-up and payment method, then saved as your instruction.  I hope I could cancel this prepaid and never receive payment request.

With regards letter, I sent letter on 24th March 2021 to Telefonica Germany Nurnberg via Einschreiben.  Can I send copy of letters and its envelopes for your reference?

Best regards,

You should wait a few days for futher assist of an o2 worker. They can tell you if your termination has been received and whether anything is missing in the termination.
You have received a confirmation that the registered letter at o2 has been received?

Dear Sir, Madam,

Thank you for your reply and kind support.  I’ll wait confirmation for termination of prepaid contract.

There was no number of registered letter, but I received 2 x e-mail from o for two each mobile phone numbers from O2 on 21st Apr 2021.

Hello Tobias, could you please release my number as well? I have already sent in the Pre-Auszahlung form but I still am not able to port my number to my new provider. Thanks!

If you use the Mein o2 app, you can release your phone number yourself.

Enter the Mein o2  app and select "Tarif & Optionen" from the menu on the left. Then click on “Rufnummernmitnahme” (Number portability). On the next page you should see on the bottom the “Rufnummer jetzt freigeben” (Release number now) button. Click the button. That's all.

That was much easier than I anticipated. Thanks for the help!!
