Your old provider is usually responsible for this. In your case that would be Vodafone if I understood correctly. You can take your number with you. However, normally there is clear information on this on the website of your provider. You should follow this information.
Your provider's service hotline is also an idea for getting an answer quickly. =)

If you have not yet opened an account at Mein o2 with your o2 mobile phone number, you must do so first.
Then go to the following page for porting: https://www.o2online.de/ecare-prepaid/mnp
Enter your Lidl Connect mobile phone number there.
Then click on “Prüfen” (Check) below.
Select Lidl Connect as “Bisheriger Mobilfunkanbieter” (Previous mobile operator)
Then check your data (name and birthday). These must be identical for o2 and Lidl Connect. If your Lidl Connect details are different, change the details to match your Lidl Connect card.
Then click on the “Absenden” (Send) button.
You will get an email/SMS from o2 with the porting date in 1-2 days OR you get information if there is an error.

Are you using a Mein o2 account created with your eMail account?
If yes:
Log out and create a Mein o2 account with your o2 phone number.
Log out from your account an than click on this link:
https://login.o2online.de/idm/#/registrieren/start
Select the first entry:
“Ich bin Mobilfunk-Kunde” and click on “Weiter”
Enter your o2 phone number and click on “Abschicken”
I don`t know how the registration continous. I have not a non-registered sim card for Mein o2.

Hi, if i try doing the registration with the number which I gave request to port when I ordered my iphone, it says

I have already wrote to my existing provider and they have confirmed that once the new “Anbeiter” requests for the number, they will support! Please let me know how to proceed now

Have you already an activated sim card from o2 and are you registered with this number at o2.de?
LogIn with an email doesn´t work.
If you are loggedIn Succesfully, you can order porting your number to your new tariff.
