Hi.

 

I had a 24 months pixel 7 pro contract with o2 since June 2023. Yesterday (13.10.2024), my mobile phone was stolen in Germany. Now i want to terminate my contract and I don’t exactly know the policy for this. The franchise stores are not helping since I ordered it online and the hotline is asking for the customer number.

The problem is I checked all the emails I received at the time of offer and there were no customer number or contract number written. There were 5-6 different pdfs related to Data protection, contractual laws etc but no visible contract number etc.

I also need to disable my SIM which is an o2 prepaid.

 

Now I am really helpless right now and with no phone, I really have limited accessibility.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You cannot cancel the installment contract; it will only end once you have paid it off.


You can find the Customer Number on your every month bank statements. 

You can cancel it earlier but the Phone you must pay full.

Such theft is always very unpleasant, I'm honestly very sorry about it.

You can block your prepaid card online or in the Mein o2 app at any time: SIM sperren/entsperren. Alternatively, our customer service staff can help you over the phone: Kontakt

Unfortunately, the installment plan cannot be terminated due to the loss of the cell phone. Perhaps you have an insurance that covers the theft?

You should also file a report with the police if you haven't already done so.

Hi Giulia, thank you for the response.

I think I don’t have any theft insurance . Just checked my liability insurance but it doesn’t cover theft that could have happened outside of it.

So i guess I should keep the phone contract as it is.

 

For the prepaid sim card, i i block it through the mentioned link, will i be able to get a new prepaid card with the same number later?

yes, you can order a new SIM card with your old phone number either online or from our customer support. Alternatively, you can get the SIM also in our shops. The charges are 9,98 EUR.
