Hello!

I have simcard with O2 MyHome M unlimited and i pay monthly 19.99 but apparently it is not 50 megabits, but only 20-25.

How can i switch to O2 MyHome L? I couldn’t find this anywhere.

Hallo! Danke Sehr!

Hello @Holger Ivansson ,

first of all:

So far so good. As far as I understand you made a contract with O2 that dures 2 years and as far as I know there is no possibillity, you can get out of it. But let us see, if we can get problems solved so far.

First of all I’d like to please you to connect to your router. Open your favorite browser and call in the adress line:

o2.spot

or alternatively call 192.168.1.1 then enter with your User-Name and Password to get in the WEB-UI.

Having it done you should see something like “WWAN 3G/LTE Status”.

Please post us those values you see (e. g. by making a screenshot) and then we will get further on.

And yes, you can say you to me… ;)

P.S.: Wer hat Dir bei der Übersetzung geholfen? ;)

Gruß

Joachim

Thank you Sir. How will we communicate further on. In english or in german.

You need to know, that my knowledges bout english are not so well, so please excuse me.

The values you posted so far don’t look that bad. How do you connect to internet? By a router or by a mobile?

What is your (actually) Zip-Code?

Of course what stranges me is the fact, that the Upload Speed is higher than the Download Speed. That’s usualy a proof, that your Radiotower is overloaded/stressed.

In that case there is nothing you can do but please, I’m no O2-Staff-Member.

Joachim

LTE Router with Sim Card

English is better, but German is totally ok :) Danke

Well, there is contractual way to solve the problem. Download 3 times (3 months) > 300 GB and most probably they will give you chance to terminate contract. But i don’t want to go this direction...

Hello @Holger Ivansson ,

okay, let’s see, if we can find out what your special problem is.

I think, you need LTE-Internet for professional use that is, you need it for Video-Conferences where you get Problems and now think, that speed ist the reason why. No, speed isn’t the problem so far so I’d like to please you once more to do fowolling.

If you’re right handed:

Click RM on start and then click “Command”

Alternatively press the Windows Key and R Key same time and give in “cmd”.

Now have a look a my screenshot:

What you see is diffirent tests with the -l option that sizes up the packet from 32 to 1500 without being fragmented (-f). You see packetloss of 100 %. Then I subtracted 28 bytes and repeated the ping. As you see, there is no packetloss. I made a newer test with 14 bytes more and see I get packetloss again.

So you have to change the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) in your router. But:

I don’t know if this is possible with every router!

And if a ping with 1472 bytes still shows packetloss you have to substract further step by step the size of the packet (remember -l) by 28 bytes so next would be 1444 and so on until you get no more packetloss.

Now enter your router and change the MTU (if possible) to best value plus 28 bytes. I could explain you why but this would take too long to explain.

Have a nice day :)

There is no way to change MTU in Archer MR200 TP-Link :(

Hello @Holger Ivansson ,

depending on your OS I see a last chance to get rid of that “funny crab”!

Set the MTU in your OS to best experienced value (in this case except the +28 bytes) to force the router down.

If even this doesn’t work I’m out of here.

Sorry I couldn’t help.

My Os ix Mac OSX Big Sur

I made it to 1444 and there were no packet loss

Still, issue persists at 1416 and less...:(

@Holger Ivansson ,

Hello, not nice to hear. I made a check with your ZIP-Code and got following message:

You can check it yourself at https://www.o2online.de/service/netzstoerung/.

In this case it looks like there are too much users logged in the same time the same radio cell. Please check your 3G/4G - Status one more time and if it happens to be that the Upload Speed is significant higher than the Download Speed one can be sure that it is so.

This would now mean, that missing speed is the problem.

Sorry I couldn’t help.

I will test Video calls today again and will write update.

Thank You, Joachim!

Hello @Holger Ivansson,

Good morning, o2_Michi,

Video calls via Google, Zoom, Slack works very unstable. Constantly loosing video faces of other participants and sound/voice delays. I am very disappointing and don’t know what even to do.

Please, help!
