Hi O2 Team, when I call someone or someone calls me for the first time (i.e. my number is not in their list of contacts), they see a "number/caller ID" name that is outdated (it shows a company name which was the previous owner of the number/SIM card).  How can I update this information? Thanks.

Hello @odferreira,
welcome to our community. It's great that you've found us here 💙
The previous owner would have to remove it, unfortunately we don't have the option of doing this. Did you find your number in a search engine? 🤔
I have to be honest and tell you that the quickest and easiest solution is to swap your phone number so that you are assigned a new number. If you are not personally attached to your number, is that a solution for you?
Best regards, Kathi 🌞

Hello Kathi, thank you for the feedback. We are in contact with the previous owner of the phone number (it was my wife's employer), what should they do? Do you need a document from them? The phone number is: xxxxxxxx. Thank you. Kind regards

@odferreira are your friends using a app like Clever Dialer?

Than o2 can’t do any thing. Normally the phone is unable to revers search a phone number.

If you don’t have the number in your phone book, than you could see just the number.

If you have a problem than contact the software developer.

Good morning @odferreira 🙂
As schluej has already answered you, unfortunately there is really nothing we can do.

It also depends on the cell phone software you are using. In our case, the number is not in a phone book entry that we could remove.
Kind regards, Kathi

Good morning @o2_Kathi , thank you for the feedback but I believe there is more to it, please see the screenshot below. This is from the Samsung website explaining how the incoming caller is identified (even if not on my address book) so as to warn about possible spam. I have noticed that when I receive calls from some businesses, the caller ID is shown. How can I change my own caller ID in this "register"? My phone number was previously used by a company and i would now want to assign my name to it. Thank you.

Hello @odferreira 🙂
Yes, it depends on the device. I assume that this information is provided by Google, is that possible?

However, Samsung's Smart Call function only flags calls that are suspected to be spam or fraud.
Unfortunately, we can't really do anything about it and change or rewrite it, as this company name is not stored with us. I would love to change it for you but we don't have a workflow for that 🤔

Best regards, Kathi 🌞
