I have a LTE unlimitted tarife with O2 HomeSpot.
Everything started More that one week ago and become worser.

I had observed problem with internet during working from Home Office.
I have tried to restart the O2 HomeSpot router couple of times but the problem did not gone.

I try to do hard reset but even that does not help.
The O2 HomeSpot router is turning all lights on and off periodically but no internet connection.
Even access/ping to the router itself o2.spot/192.168.1.1 is not working.

I have moved the sim to one of my phones and use as AP.
As work around and to be able to do Home Office.

But the internet connection quality is remaining auful.
I have checked Network status in O2 it shows Yellow.
In the past also there was issues but now it even worser and affects O2 HomeSpot router as well.
I am expecting from O2 to fix/replace the router!

Hi @AramK,

welcome to our community. 🙂

Can you please tell me which Homespot do you try to use (like the 5G HomeSpot from 2023 for example)?

What happens when you type in the IP-adress 192.168.1.1 in your browser?

Best regards,

Michi

  1. I have O2 HomeSpot: o2 Homespot 4G (RTL0080VW)
  1. And this happens when I try address 192.168.1.1:
    “The connection has timed out

The server at 192.168.1.1 is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.”

Hello @AramK,

can you please connect the HomeSpot via cable to access the setup menu?

Does this work?

Best regards,

Michi

Hi @o2_Michi
Actually I had connected by cable.

And it is not working!

Hello @AramK,

just to fully understand, your HomeSpot is connected via cable on a PC or Mac, the WiFi is off and after typing in the IP-Address, the error message always says “timed out”?

If thats the case there is a possibility that the router could have a malfunction.

Best regards,

Michi

Type In http://192.168.1.1 the HomeSpot can’t speak https

Yes exactly the router is malfunctioning.

Hello @AramK 🙂

if nothing else helps and the router isn’t responding at all, you can send it in for repair.

We have a FAQ for this process, but the repair portal is still in german. If you have questions regarding the repair process, just write us here.

Best regards,

Michi
