I purchased a new SIM card and contract, but cannot confirm via email

And when I bought the sim card, I asked to use my original mobile phone number, but when I received the sim card today, I was given a new number.

Was it an internal porting from o2 to o2?

Or did you want to change your phone number to us (o2) from another provider?

that you get a temporary number first while the process of porting is running isn’t out of the ordinary. Did you get confirmation for the number being moved to your new contract?
