i got scammed? I can't cancel my contract and may have to pay much money...

A month ago( in Novermber), I sent a cancellation letter to o2 because i leave Germany in the next week. On the letter i wrote that the expected cancelation date is at the middle of December. So i notified it 1 month before.  

But the confirmation email i got says that I’m supposed to cancel my contract in Feb 2022. if it’s true, I ‘ll have to keep paying monthly fees for more than 1 year even though  I will be no longer in Germany and won’t use o2 at all. 

The problem is… the fact I was told by a o2 staff in the local shop(in alexsander platz in Brelin) that I could cancel this contract at any time if i notified it 1 month before. But now I noticed that my contract is O2 Free S Online( 2 years contract )

it’s just my guessing though, I think i was lied by him like above because probably he (sales man) could get commissions from it. I know it’s also my fault but...

So basically, How should i deal with this situation?? I’d like to cancel my contract as soon as possible and I don’t want to pay that much money.

there is not much time left to me in Germany. I would be glad that if you knew and told me the best solution!
