Hello @Liz L ,
it is so far okay to click optimize. But afterwards you need to reboot the router to make router change the channel! Alternatively (if the router and your PC is in one room) you can use the 5 GHz-Network because the 13 channels in 2,4 WLAN GHz Network happen to be stressed, depending how much neighbours in your surrounding use the 2,4 GHz WLAN Network.
To check your surrounding please try Vistumbler (only for Windows available):

Hi Tobias
I tried the suggestions to get my homespot to work, but no success yet.
To switch to Channel 13: I clicked on “analyse” and when the results showed that channel 13 is better, I clicked on” Optimise”. I then reset the Homespot router, but it still doesn´t switch to channel 13. I see on Vistumbler that there is no usage of channel 13. I can see my wifi is showing active for channel 11, but none of my devices here can connect and keep a stable connection. ( 3 different devices, so it´s not the devices)
For using 5G: Do I need a different contract to switch to 5G? I can pick up the 5G devise name of my homespot on my devices, but as soon as I enter the password, it tells me the password is invalid.
Also, I checked the network signal for my postcode on the o2 site, and it shows that 5G is not active in my area.
The only way I can connect currently, is over my o2 phone contract 4G, so I would like to find a solution soon . The 3 weeks that the homespot has been unreliable, there had also been maintenence on the “basisstation” in my postcode.
Thanks
Lizani
Hi @Liz L ,
the mentioned 5 GHz is a different frequency on which your homespot can provide WLAN.
Using the standard configuration, 2,4 & 5 GHz WLAN Access Points have the same name. You phone or laptop will then switch between those 2 frequencies ( if both are supported by the device). This process can take a few seconds, in which the internet may not be available. You can set different names for the technology in order to stop the device from switching between one and the other.
5G is the next gen of mobile network technology. While your tariff is certainly up for it, the HomeSpot is not, since it is the 4G-Modell.
The maintenence in your area has been completed, is the connection now available again?
Are you also using a SIM from o2 in your cell? If so, how is the connection with that SIM?
Best Regards,
Kurt
