Hi. Someone I know has been deported back to his homeland last month. He was a good payor since 2023. Unfortunately he wont be able to pay the rest monthly installments and would like to cancel the contract. What solution can be taken in this situation? Thank you

Hello @Vexana,

Welcome to the o2 Community. 😊

I hope your friend is doing well. It's very nice of you to get in touch here for him.

What kind of contract did he have and how long does the minimum term still run?

Bumer has already given you a link that lists which documents we need. If you have any further questions, please let me know at any time.

Kind regards, Lea

Thank you for replying. How can he get the decertification since he was deported? He ordered an iPad last year October 2023 for 3 years installments.

Wenn es nur um ein iPad (Ratenkauf) geht, dann muss er das Gerät weiter abbezahlen.

Wurde auch ein Mobilfunkvertrag dazu abgeschlossen?

Hey @Vexana,

oh, if this is hardware, things are a little different. I had assumed that it was about something like a tariff. But it's only about the payments for the Ipad?

In this case, early termination of the contract would be possible. With this option, the entire balance of the iPad must be paid in full.

If this is not desired, the only option is to continue paying for the Ipad in installments as before.

Hey @Vexana,

Have I been able to answer all your questions or are there any other uncertainties? Feel free to give me feedback.

Kind regards, Lea

Hi Lea. Thank you for the response. How can he be able to pay for the remaining payment since he has been deported?

Is he not able to transfer the payment from the country he is now in? That would be the easiest option.

According to him there is no option for international transfer. Can he just change the account and from there he will be able to pay the monthly payment?

You mean by direct debit? That is only possible from SEPA countries.

Hey @Vexana,

the money cannot be deducted from the account he has specified in his contract?

Did he always transfer the money himself or was it automatically deducted by us?

Kind regards, Lea
