The eSim profile will be sent separately by letter. Phone number portability starts automatically one day after the contract is activated. it will be transferred 7-10 days later.
Hey!
Thank for your answer! I just added the eSIM to her phone. It shows a different phone number, but in this case I assuem just yet. I was planning to go to the local store, but last time we were struggling with the staff to understand each other. :)
I’ll wait and we’ll see!
Many thanks again!
You will first be given a temporary number which will later be replaced with the one you brought with you
Hello @bandras ,
welcome to the o2 Community .
I see that you’ve already gotten the necessary information from Bumer, if there are any further questions concerning the number transfer or anything else please let us know.
Kind regards, Sven
Hey,
I was just wondering, how I will know that the process have been done? Will they send an SMS for example? Thank you again!
You will receive an SMS when the phone number has been ported. Then restart the smartphone.
@bandras Is there already an update in your case? Has the phone number been ported?
Perhaps you would like to tell us what the current situation is, we would be very pleased to receive an update.
Kind regards
Matze

Hey Matze,
thanks for asking!
No change has been happened, unfortunately. She can use the new card with the new number, even the old ones.
We actually are abroad, gonna be back Sunday evening. I was planning to contact them on Monday.
Should I try to contact them?
Many thanks for taking care about our issue!
@bandras Thank you for your kind feedback, but I'm still a bit confused Let me summarize this briefly:
So the new number (of your wifes contract) works as an eSIM just fine and the old prepaid number is still active, have I understood that correctly?
If this is the case, all you have to do is release the old prepaid number for porting (you do this with your wife's old prepaid provider) and then start the porting process via the new number in our online portal.
We can help you a little with this here in the community, alternatively we also have an English-speaking hotline if you would prefer to speak to someone in person.
Regards
Matze

Sorry if I was not clear enough.
My wife had a prepaid card. She is in love with the number. When I ordered the phone online, I had an option to choose from where I want to bring a phone number. I chose the O2 prepaid option, and I’ve given the prepaid number of her. I also chose the eSIM as an option.
They sent a letter with an eSIM code. I activated it. So at the moment she has an eSIM with a new number which is the new post-paid contract, and a physical SIM with the previous pre-paid number. Both are working.
I’ll go the store where I live on Monday. Hopefully they can help me. :)
@bandras Okay, I'm lazy I would always opt for the hotline, but at the end of the day you should go where you feel most comfortable
For the sake of completeness, here is just a brief reference to our FAQ on this topic, perhaps it will help you a little further
Have a nice weekend and take care
Cheers
