Hello,

We will be traveling to Canada for a couple of months this year. With my O2 plan (O2 Free L Connect (LTE/5G)) what will be the cost to receive SMS messages from Germany? I will need to receive the codes to log into my online banking, etc… while away quite often.

Receiving text messages from Germany is free of charge. Just sending is charged with 39 ct/text.

Outgoing calls to Germany/inside Canada: 1,49 EUR/min

Incoming calls: 0,69 EUR/min

Data usage: 0,99 EUR/MB

The delivery of banking SMS(mTAN) is even more insecure abroad than normal SMS, as they are distributed via a different route. There may also be longer delays.
It is better to use banking apps that only require Wi-Fi to function properly.

Thanks, they have answered my questions!

I am Canadian so for us, it’s a trip home. I’d highly recommend visiting Nova Scotia (where we are from) if you can. It’s beautiful! :blush:
