Contract Cancellation for HomeSpot

Hello,

I need help to understand if I’m eligible to cancel my O2 contracts. It works quite slow at my place. Beforehand I made sure it has good LTE signal level, e.g.

The O2 HomeSpot router is quite unstable too, I need to reboot it daily! For 4 months already.

The problem I have is that I was “kindly” suggested to buy a combo plan from you. So instead of only one O2 HomeSpot contract, I was given:

 - O2 HomeSpot SIM contract
 - O2 HomeSpot hardware contract to buy the HomeSpot router
 - O2 PlanS SIM card, which I do not use.

It was my failure and a cheaty smartiness of the sales persons at the O2 local shop. So it looks like I’m locked in with your service for the rest of two years. I’m not filling well about it, and the service in my area is not getting any better since February. I’m really looking forward for the help from you.

Hi jonnyzzz,

I'm sorry to hear that you have issues with the network.

It is a normal process that you have 2 contracts (one for the SIM, and one for the device).

You're able to get only a contract for the SIM (so you need to buy an own device from Huawei or AVM / FritzBox) or you can also only get an contract for a new device without a new SIM.

So that's a normal process.

If you close both contracts together, normally you're getting a discount, which you don't get if you buy them separately.

For the second SIM I think there was a special deal like this:

Regular price for the home spot 49,99€

If you have a contract you get a discount for the second one. Sometimes 50%.

Let's say the S Contract costs 19,99€ and you get 50% off on 49,99€ you save around 5€ per month.

So I don't think that the shop crew was cheating on you. I think they only want to give you the best value.

Your signal level looks really good, so I think there is an overload on the network due to the amount of people who working from home.

You can try to switch temporary from LTE to HSDPA+ (H+) until the situation gets back normal.

If this also isn't working, you need to contact the customer service.

But you can be sure - on your place the Homespot should working well, because there is a special control mechanism for the shops, Hotlines and others, so they can only sell this product if the network in normal case can give you a good performance.

Hope I could help you with this.

Have a great weekend and keep healthy!

Greez

Andy
