Changing of the Simcard Owner

@seventhson changing contract holders costs EUR 34.99.  Please remember that you have two contracts.  SIM card and mobile phone hardware.  In addition, there will probably be problems whether o2 even agrees to this because your wife has no credit history here in Germany.  By the way.  Are you already an o2 postpaid contract customer and how long has your stay in Germany?

what @Joe Doe means is, that we make a request to the “schufa”. Understandably, we naturally want our customers to pay their bills regularly. As a security for us, a credit check is carried out. If your wife comes to us from abroad, she will of course not have any credit history in Germany and it may happen that a contract is then rejected or, in your case, the switch. Actually this should not be the case and it should work.
It is important to note, that it is not possible to change the contract holder for purchased hardware. These contracts always remain with the original contract holder. It is therefore possible that a hardware discount will not apply if the mobile phone contract is changed to another owner. However, it is also possible that your wife's contract simply remains in your name. If you have separate bank accounts, you can change the bank details under My o2 or in the My o2 app. Does this help you?
