Good evening,

I requested to take my number from my current provider to O2 for my new smartphone contract a few days ago and number portability is planned to take place on 1.12.2021 (this Wednesday). However, I just cancelled/revoked my new contract through Sparhandy and therefore would like to cancel/revoke the number portability as well before it takes place on Wednesday.

I really appreciate your support on this as I don’t want to lose access to my number or incur extra charges.

Thank you!

This is resolved now as I had an online chat with customer service. For future references and for others’ information, once number portability is planned, it cannot be revoked (at least in my case). I need to wait for the number to be ported and then contact O2 to request back-porting or number release. Once number release is confirmed (probably with an email), you can then request number portability from your previous/existing provider.

Hi @DaveC

I welcome you to our English Community.

Nice that you clarified your issue already with our customer-service.

You are right, in your case, there was no time to inform our porting department, as the porting has taken place on 1st December.

Now you can port it back to the new provider. As the contract is already deactivated, we do not need to release the number. The porting is free of charge since 1st December. So, you are lucky. :hugging:

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Good evening,

I recentely applied in my o2 app for porting my number to another service provider. Today I received e-mail notifying my application for number porting was successful. I need to cancel it. What should I do. I have extened my contract with O2 and I want to stay with 02. I do not want to take my number to another network. May I kindly request your help to cancel my number porting? Thanks in advance

Kindly

Raj

Hello @Raj05,

welcome to our community and thank you for your enquiry!
If you no longer want to take your number with you, then you must contact the provider to whom you wanted to take your number! They can then process the process accordingly.

Kind regards
