Hello,

Hope you are all doing well! I left Germany and keeping my mobile number just doesn’t make sense anymore, so I would like to please request a cancellation. I’ve already passed my minimum contract term.

According to this guide, I would need to send the de-registration letter for proof, and “a notification of your new, foreign domicile”, which I’m not so sure about - would the leasing document at my new place work?

The thing is as mentioned I’m not in Germany, so faxing or mailing would be difficult. I also cannot use my German phone number anymore because there’s no international roaming. Is there an email address where I can send the documents too? Thank you so much!

If you have completed the minimum term of your contract you can just terminate it normally without sending any documents: https://info.o2online.de/kuendigung/

Thank you for the pointer! Do you know how I can find my customer number? I can’t access O2 because I don’t remember my password and don’t have access to my number :(

I found the Kd-Nr on my debit statement! Sent in the cancellation request, does anyone know usually how long does it take for O2 to process? Hopefully I don’t have to pay again next month for a number and data I don’t use anymore :(

You will have to pay for one more month because the period of notice to terminate a contract is one month. It shouldn’t take too long to process and you can check the status in a few days in the customer portal or the app.

Good Evening @in_need_of_help ,

You have created your personal customer code yourself when you signed the contract. You can find your personal customer code under: MyO2 -> My data and then go completely down and there is then: personal customer code, there you go on it and you have to enter a password or via FaceID or TouchID.

Unfortunately, you have to verify with the personal customer code because the customer number (Kd-Nr) does not work for verifying.

Maybe it comes back to you what your personal customer code is.

Is your number still active? You can also change the password over your number and then you would have access to My O2 again.

Best regards | RhobarDerIII

Hello @in_need_of_help, welcome at our community. I´m glad you have already received so much help here. 😊

I had a look and your contract is now deactivated. If you come back to Germany, we'll be happy to provide you with a nice contract again.

Kind regards, Ines.
