Hi! I have recently made an online order for home internet installation via LAN cable (my Home XL Flex). During registration I have mentioned a Polish mobile phone number as a contact number (I had no local German phone number at that point). After the registration was completed I found out that Germany country code was automatically added in front of number therefore the number is incorrect. As well there is a note "Please confirm your number". As I understood the service technician should get in touch with me via that number before attendance. Please kindly advise me how can I change that number? So far I was not able to find where it has to be changed. As well how can I confirm that number in general? Should I give a call to some number from my number?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi @Oleksiy ,

do you speak german or is English the better choice? If spoken german is not an option, I’d recommend a written channel like the chat or WhatsApp; there you’ll always have the option to translate text back and forth with translation tools. Please take a look at our contact site:

Kontakt aufnehmen und Hilfe finden | o2 (o2online.de)

We also have a hotline which handles calls in english, this is however not available at this moment, which is why I’d recommend the other digital services.

Best regards,
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

Thank you for your reply. I tried to use WahtsUp however it gives me the following answer (in automatic mode I guess):

"Deine persönlichen Daten wie Anschrift, E-Mail Adresse oder Bankverbindung kannst du in Mein o2 einsehen und jederzeit aktualisieren. Alternativ kannst du deine Daten auch in der Mein o2 App prüfen und ändern.

Vertragskunden: https://g.o2.de/aura-postpaid-daten
Prepaid Kunden: https://g.o2.de/aura-prepaid-daten"

So it redirects me to the personal data page. However I cannot edit my phone number on that page, but just look it through. I can prove my email address, I can change my billing address however I cannot change my phone number there. It is not a problem for me to use online translation service however in WhatsUp I stay connected with a machine which provides me with automatic answers and to which I cannot explain what the exact problem is.

Kind regards,

Oleksiy

Hi @Oleksiy

Do you intend to use a German mobile phone number at some point in the near future? The colleagues from customer support or from technology and activation  department only contact german numbers, so
sooner or later it would be necessary to use a German number anyway.

Best Regards Matze

Hi @o2_Matze ,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I want to change it to German number now. How can I provide my new German number to O2 team?

As was previously said there was no "edit option" for phone number on Mein O2 personal data web page.

Since it is a personal data whom should I provide it to?

Can I do it via private messaging with O2 support? If yes, send me a private message please.

Kind regards,

Oleksiy

Looks like I have accidently closed the topic…

The issue is not solved. Please kindly advise on above.

By the way, I have tried to use online chat service (not a WhatsUp since WhatsUp provide automated answers) but no success. For some reason it offers me to login over and over again and I cannot even join the chat room. So basically I cannot get any support by any mean except here within community.

Is there any email address that may be used in order to request a support where I can share my personal data?

Kind regards,

Oleksiy

Hello @Oleksiy ,

we’ve changed your contact number according to the wishes that you have stated via private message.

Kind regards, Sven

Hello @o2_Sven

Many thanks for your kind support. The issue is solved.

Could you just kindly advise me how the number should proved? On the personal data page it says "Please prove your number". Should be a phone call given from that number to someone?

Thank you and kind regards,

Oleksiy

Hello @Oleksiy ,

you don’t need to do anything further, it usually just lags a bit behind and will change on its own in a bit.

Kind regards, Sven
