Hello,
my landlord hasn't extended my contract and therefore I have to move. The new place has Wi-Fi and therefore I'd like to terminate the O2 contract and return the router. There's roughly 11 months left until the end of the contract. I've tried to Kundigung vormerken in my account but it didn't work.
Please, help.
Hi @nnnnina
The "Kündigung vormerken" button is only intended to preregister the cancellation. This means that the cancellation will be filed at the regular end of the contract period, but you will then have to confirm it by calling the hotline. As far as I know, a simple domestic move is unfortunately not a reason for extraordinary termination, unless the service cannot be provided at the new place of residence. In any case, you should contact the hotline or the support chat directly to find a solution. Here in the community, it will take a few days until a moderator responds to your post.

Hi @nnnnina
Welcome to our community. @SethVanDoom was a 100% right. But in your case everything is a bit more difficult, because your contact is more a less a mobile contract, which can`t be cancelled when moving to a new home where DSL is already installed.
So i am afraid you have to use your contact for the full contract duration.
Best regards Matze
I've had a chat with the customer support and they told me to send a cancellation letter to an adress in
Nürnberg. Will it help?

Good morning @nnnnina
This will only result in the contract being terminated in due time at the end of the agreed term. As @o2_Matze has already explained to you, it is obviously a mobile router/homespot in your case, i.e. it is a mobile communications contract that cannot be terminated for exceptional reasons even if you move.

Hello @nnnnina ,
generally the best way to ask for a preemptive contract cancellation would be to send a letter including copies of any additional documentation that is needed for this to our address in Nürnberg. You can still try this, but with a contract that is to be used in a stationary LTE Router the chances of a successful cancellation are very slim, as you’d have to move to somewhere with no LTE coverage at all.
Kind regards, Sven
