After choosing a phone-line router, the guy from Telekom came and said the cable between the box and my flat is broken and said I should contact my Landlord to fix this.

Instead is it possible to switch to a router connected to the TV cable, and to get someone from Telekom to activate this?

Hello @JDHut ,

welcome to the o2 Community 💙.

Have you already checked if internet via cable is avaiable at your address? As these are two completely different kinds of connections, it would require a new order, which would of course also take up time. Have you already talked with your landlord concerning the landline, that might be the quicker way to get your internet connection.

Kind regards, Sven

Hi Sven,

Yes I’ve talked with my landlord and they have said this may take a lot of time to look at and get fixed and suggested I try via cable.

My flat does indeed have internet via cable, as the previous tenant got this installed.

Should I then make a new order myself, or is this something that you can change?

Thanks!

Hello @JDHut,

in most cases building the missing or repairing the defective line between the APL and yourTAE wall socket is done within a few days after recieving the order from the landlord. The landlord will recieve all necessary information for this order.

If you want to change from DSL to Cable the DSL order has to be canceled first, any hardwre that you may already have recieved needs to be shipped back to us using our Router Logistics Portal and a new order for a Cable connection has to be made by you.

Did you maybe already recieved further information from your landlord? :-)

Regards,

Lars
